Celebrate the release of RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE with your very own canister of T-Virus!
At the beginning of the twenty-first century, the Umbrella Corporation had become the largest commercial entity in the United States.
9 out of every 10 homes contain its products. Its political and financial influence is felt everywhere.
In public, it is the world's leading supplier of computer technology, medical products, and health care.
Unknown even to its own employees, its massive profits are generated by military technology, genetic experimentation, and viral weaponry.
Well, I've only played games 1 - 3, and that was awhile ago so my memory's a little hazy when it comes to that canon...
But as far as the movies go, having just seen the third one EXTINCTION, in that one they were actually trying to devise a cure to restore what was left of the human population to some form of civility. That's why they were after Alice(Milla), because her blood was the key to an anti-body to combat the viral infection.
Buuuuuut..........being the greedy and maniacal corporation that they are, they still wanted her for selfish reasons. Continual research of advanced bio-weapons development, evolution of man, control of a new world order that same 'ol thing...
Wow, I spent WAY too much thought on that! :o
haha, still grateful tho', I does clear up somethings up :D I guess if you want to rule the world just turn people into zombies.

Dude loves LOST I know that. He even did a portrait of Terry O'Quinn as John Locke. Pretty creepy!
I saw that! He did it for Twiggy! That was an insanely creepy portrait but was awesome as hell too. He did two other characters but I can't remember who. He's such a creative person it's ridiculous, can't help but admire the guy except for the certain things that are not to be admired.
Anyone else waiting for his "Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll"? It's got Lily Cole in it...
George A. Romero's version of RESIDENT EVIL:
Well after rewatching RE:Apocalypse, the scenes of zombies tearin' up the devastated streets of Raccoon City don't look a whole lot different from that 2nd commercial.
It was just pretty incoherent as an entire narrative structure. And I STILL haven't played RE4. >_<
Maybe but I still think Romero could have delivered a better RE than Paul W.S. Anderson.
Get the lead out and play RE: 4 immediately. I'd wager it's the absolute best of the series. It's loaded with it's scare parts, action heavy segments and controls that destroy the terrible tank controls from the previous games.
No doubt, no doubt. I know there was even a script for Romero's RE movie. But then again, after the things I've heard about SURVIVAL OF THE DEAD...
I won't get to see AFTERLIFE 2day, so maybe I'll be able to squeeze in the CG-animated DEGENERATION flick and some RE4 playtime. Gonna be an all-Resident Evil weekend for me! :D

In honor of today's release of RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE.
What could have been...
Finally gotten around to listening to this week's JoBlo Movie Podcast.
OMFG hearing Jim Law's opinion of Danny Trejo in Machete left me in hysterics! And makes me really not want to see it now. :|
I've finished my marathon re-watch of the first three RESIDENT EVIL movies. RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE, here I come!
San Bruno, CA was originally used as a visual influence for the look of the town in the SILENT HILL games - http://www.igotaletter.com/rarities/oldneelystreet/
And now, ironically it would seem that San Bruno is becoming more like Silent Hill. <_>
We lived 5 minutes from there, and some mornings I would take my kid to the Chuck E Cheese out there, and it would be 15 degrees colder than at our house, and ALWAYS amazingly gloomy.
I want to go there
(Yoshio.. for someone who hates the Silent Hill movie you sure talk about it a lot haha :)
In case you may not know what the hell I'm talking about - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fx_kG_YxsJk&feature=channel

there is something magical about the practicality, actual functioning parts and hands on artistry to this opening that is lost in Burton's similar CGI heavy openings of recent years.
Yeah, what ever happened to that Burton?
I'll tell you what........he got bitten by the same viral CGI bug that got Lucas and Cameron!

Hey man.. i've had this burning question like forever that maybe you could answer... why would the Umbrella corporation keep doing research if basically most of the world is already dead... or, undead.
